"Idol"-Lars about the critics

He has been told to leave the program.
Lars himself takes it all calmly.
  - I'm in the competition for my own sake, not theirs, he said.

Since Friday there has been a lot of discussion about Lars Eriksson; to be or not to be in "Idol".
Votes have increased about Lars leaving the program.
Something that never will happen, according to the artist himself.
  - I'm in the competition for my own sake, not for anybody elses. To quit the show has never been on topic, and I've never said it either. I have never had a thought about quitting, why would I do that, Lars Eriksson said to aftonbladet.se.
Lars Eriksson says that he has a hard time understand the nonsense that he has given origin to.
  - I don't get why people are taking this so seriously. I think that I did good performances both on Friday and the week before that. They were very well-planned and I think I prepared them three times more than normal. I thought it was fun to do something that by the standards and the template didn't fit in to the competition. And I do think it made good television too, he said.
The theme of next Friday's "Idol" is rock. Something that Lars Eriksson is welcoming with open arms.
  - Yes, finally. Now it is, thank god, a theme that I feel more comfortable in. Now I can be myself again, he said.
